♣ Polyvore newbie and everyday style.

I've just tried to unite with Polyvore today. This is almost official, I don't really want to spend my time with fashion like this, maybe dying for some "hearts" or "likes" from another users. I'm on Polyvore because I think I like creating "a set of something", just like what you see in the picture below. I used to be on Looklet. but because Looklet has changed, I join Polyvore.

I am not trying a good designer here. I join (to sites like this) because I think it's fun. Not trying to mention that I do really care about fashion. I don't follow fashion. I guess.

 xxxxx

This is my first set. As usual, I entitle the set with number. I'm lazy to think about a name. This is my everyday style. Very casual.

  2. Black jeans - The same reason why I choose white t-shirt. On the set: Adidas Originals Cupie Fit Jeans // 1.339.170 IDR - nelly.com
  3. Flat shoes - I think they are comfortable and feminine also. And they make me think that I'm taller than 5'1" although, of course, impossible. On the set: Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flat // 5.635.910 IDR - kirnazabete.com
  4. Shoulderbag - Sometimes I wear handbag, but shoulderbag is more comfortable for me. On the set: Miu Miu Shoulder Bag // 11.319.180 IDR - miumiu.com
  5. Watch - My mom bought me a watch when I was in grade 3 of elementary school. Since then I kept wearing watch - Knowing what time it is is important. On the set: Michael Kors Logo Runway Goldtone Watch // 2.368.030 IDR - dillards.com
  6. Jacket - I come from Indonesia and everyday is like summer (but I'm sure the summer is "too summer"). Some girls doesn't wear it. ♣ Fonts that I love.

I find myself thinking that choosing font for something such as font on magazine, newspaper, blog, or any packagings is important. They bug me when I'm stuck choosing what font that can be use in my blog. You know blog has many parts and I can't choose one font for entire blog. But I love "playing" with them.

These are my favorite fonts recently. You can see that I like fonts that are not handwriting. I don't know if Pacifico and Lobster are handwriting or not (I don't really care actually), but they look like handwriting. The rest fonts are just simple or clean or minimalist. Cambria and Georgia are pretty common, right? You can get from the links below.

♣ Makeup and scent wishlist.

1. Maybelline Lip Color - I am looking for matte lipstick and my choice goes between Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme (you don't read it wrong, Moisture Extreme is now Colorsensational Moisture Extreme in my country) or Maybelline Color Sensational. I doubt Maybelline Color Sensational at first because it looks glossy at the first application but apparently it will look matte after a while.

2. Wardah Eau de Toilette - I always think that I'm a body mist person, not eau de toilette. I love to press the sprayer and body mist allows me to press the sprayer more often and frequently, without having too much scent. But lately, I want to try eau de toilette for longer scent.

3. Silkygirl Blockbuster Color Pallete - Since I know how to make my unusual eyes pretty, I've been searching for a good eyeshadow pallete. My choice goes to this.

4. Wardah Luminous Face Powder - I've tried various face powder and this works for me. Now I keep purchashing this in my own mixed shade, 01 Light Bedge and 02 Bedge because 01 is too light and 02 is too dark for my skin tone. Shade 03 Ivory is too yellowish. Now I'm craving for the next release shade, 04 Natural.

5. Maybelline Volume Express Hypercurl Mascara - My first mascara is Silkygirl Eye Opener Waterproof Mascara. It's afordable (Rp 30.000,00) for beginner. Now I'm more trained using mascara, I think it's time to buy this. Indonesian girls love this product.

6. Silkygirl Moisture Lipgloss - I'm not lipgloss person, more to lipstick person. But I think I need one lipgloss to be saved in my purse. I've fallen in love with shade 01 Amber.

7. Ecotools Bamboo 6 Pieces Set - Brushes that I need in one set. Plus, it's Ecotools.

♣ My relationship with short bob haircut.

A little story ..

I've had been having short hair since I was a kid. My longest hair was approximately two or three years ago. It was when I craved for it. But after having experience of having long hair, I decided to cut it. I realized I couldn't stand letting my hair wet after washing hair. I use hairdryer rarely to prevent my hair dry. By having long hair I would use it more often which was able make my hair dry, splits end, and more reddish and I didn't like it.

Since I was a kid, my mom brought me to salon regularly. If I rejected, she would keep asking me to go. And I went because I wanted to make she shut her mouth up (sorry). Usually, she offered me to choose hairstyle. Usually, I confused. Then, my mom and I would say bob haircut to the hairdresser.. like usual. The haircut was short. She always thought that having long hair would make the owner sultry. She still uses this reason to coax me to cut my hair.

Now I go to salon to get trimmed or had new haircut because I want to. Although it's more because of habitual so when I don't trim or change hairstyle every three or four months, I feel so "old" and I crave for something "new". Usually I ask the hairdresser to maintain my previous haircut that is usually short bob. But sometimes I ask the hairdresser to change it into short shaggy or pixie. I remember when I showed Carey Mulligan's picture to clearen what kind of pixie haircut that I want, the hairdresser asked me back, "Are you sure? This is too short". I do understand.

As time goes by, I know I have a "relationship" with short bob haircut. I love it. Bob haircut is timeless. It's used by Suri Cruise to Anna Withour. It has many variations but the classic style is very classy. I always go back to bob haircut after having a trip from another hairstyle.

♣ Rose Elinor Dougall's The Distractions EP.

I'm not really into music lately. I can say this because I don't search any new albums, new musicians, new news about music. It's surprising since I always think that I'm not going to feel bored to music but hey! I'm bored! When I hear new song (for my ears), I go "okay". When I know some new musicians (for my music knowledge), I go "yeah". Where is my music enthusiasm? Where should I find it?

Meanwhile, I think I have a new hobby. It's Twitterwalking. It's like a blogwalking but it's Twitterwalking since I do this on Twitter. How? Just open your following list, pick one user, open his/her following list. If there's one user who is able to catch your attention by his/her profile picture (this is me) or Twitter bio or username or his/her real name or whatever, open his/her Twitter page. Read his/her tweets, if you fancy his/her tweets, follow! If you don't, go back to your own following list and pick one other user and open his/her following list and pick one his/her following user and read and so on. The point is to find who to follow through another user's following list. The last time I did this was yesterday, from Ryan Ross's Twitter. I opened his following list and scroll down and I found her: Rose Elinor Dougall. I picked her because of her profile picture (see?)

Rose Elinor Dougall is a English singer, songwriter, and musician. She has one album, Without Why, and one EP album, The Distractions, that you can download for free through her bandcamp account. Talking about The Distractions, I love the tracks. The Distractions somehow reminds me to One Night Only although their kind of music completely different. I'm not going to review Dougall's EP here. I've lost my desire to make review :( Better listen her music by yourself. If you love Indie Pop, this is possibly what you like.

♣ Adopting Twiggy.

Since I'm paying more attention to my eyes, I'm diligent enough to search eye makeup tutorials on the web. I've got some and downloaded them. But then I know it's just my desire that has taken over my logic. Those eye makeup tutorials don't fit with me. Remember my last post? Click here if you haven't read it. Apparently I just want to do "window shopping", spoiling my eyes and imagine if I could apply those tutorials to my eyes. From eyeshadows, eyeliners, and mascara, I just can maximize the power of mascara.

My eyelashes are kind of common type of Asian eyelashes. It's straight, not really long but not that short, not thick, and looks fragile. It's something that makes me think eyelashes curler is a great saviour .. which only being a great saviour for a second. What I do is clear: set the kit into my eyelashes, clip, hold it, then apply mascara. But it seems because of my upper eyelid touches my eyelashes, it makes the brand new shape of eyelashes back into its normal shape. I actually do nothing. Then I remember Twiggy ..

Lesley Hornby aka Twiggy Lawson is an English model, actress, and singer. I don't know who she is but I remember Emma Watson has mentioned her name. And I Google her. And that's her. I looked at her and admire her eyelashes. Her eyelashes are long, dense, and looked thick. I don't know if it's naturally like that but I like it. While most women only give their attention to their upper eyelashes, she gives attention to upper and bottom eyelashes.

I'm trying to adopt her style now. Although it's a struggle for me since my upper eyelashes are curl naturally only on its inner and last part of my upper eyelashes (it's straight in the middle), I apply mascara to upper and bottom eyelashes. I apply it three coats of SILKYGIRL Eye Opener Mascara for natural effect. For dramatic effect, I apply it something-times until my eyes look thick. Close enough to look like Twiggy for my type of eyelashes.

I never know being a girl and having relationship with makeup are stressful.

♣ Myoneandlonely’s Five faves things of the week.

(You've learned enough when I mention a list of things all together in one post, it’s time to prepare yourself for five completely random things and some moments of shallowness with me here, so…)

1. Thank You, Camellia Kris Allen
Okay, this one ended up here just because I sooo want to tell the world about it (since this is technically my three-weeks-ago fave thing). I mean, I love Kris Allen! He’s the only American Idol alumnus that I actually care about for his future work after Idol. “Thank You Camellia” is the second major-label studio album by him. It was released on May 22, 2012 but we can stream in its entirety on Kris Allen’s Official Music Store even before it released. Lindsey Parker from Yahoo! Music had summed up everything I love about this album (and what I love about Kris himself). Quoting her, Kris’ songwriting skills have clearly grown more sophisticated, praising the range of the material from jaunty, summer-convertible-cruising anthems like the finger-snapper “Better With You” and the absolutely charming “My Weakness”, to some serious tracks like the heart-sleeved romantic ode “Blindfolded” or the propulsive and sinister alt-rocker “Monster”. She also noted that the lyrics are plain-spoken, refreshingly unflowery, and cut right to the heart of the matter –and right to the listener's heart. And yes I’ve been giving away some seriously cool track titles SO GO CHECK THEM OUT! :D

2. The Big Split: Revisited
I’m talking about Panic! at the Disco. If you happen to like the band too, you understand what I mean. But if you LOVE them, you understand how “big“ it was. It’s almost 3 friggin’ years now since Ryan Ross and Jon Walker decided to leave the band to pursue their own musical venture together blah blah blah let’s skip that. So why revisiting a sad memory then deciding to put it in the faves list, I don’t know, I’m just feeling a bit sentimental right now. Oh and because I watched this video on YouTube last weekend. “I think this’ll be the first time I don’t, uh, cry during this song. I’m gonna try, but I usually start to tear up so, forgive me. This is called ‘Northern Downpour’,” said Brendon Urie, before he started singing the song he used to sing duet with his ex-bandmate, Ryan Ross. Of course Brendon Urie tried. And of course he failed again this time. “God, I’m sorry,” smiling to the crowd, Brendon said in the end of the song. Don’t be sorry, Brendon. Who doesn’t tear up listening to you singing that song without Ryan?

3. SPN Silent Majority
Supernatural’s Silent Majority is a cause, first started on Tumblr, for expressing dissenting opinions about the TV show “Supernatural”, for those who feel upset by what is seen as a decline in quality and loss of the Dean and Sam story during Season 7. SPN Silent Majority is a space for those opinions. Unhappy with the direction of the show this year? Wondering what happened to the Winchester Brothers’ story? You are not alone, is what they declared on their “About” page. Unfortunately, some parts of Supernatural fandom are accusing this movement as an effort to get rid of certain character from the show, or to make the whole show be all about nothing but the brothers and the brothers only. But seriously, I think it’s not their point. We wouldn’t mind the other extra fan-favorite characters added into the show and the brothers developing a new bond with those other extra characters. As long as the brothers are still… being brothers. Late Season 7 Dean and Sam are like long time married couples who are slowly getting bored of each other. They still hold each other back merely because they have to –there’s zero passion in that. All we ask is to be assured that the “brotherly bond” is still there. Because Supernatural we know, despite those gigantic myth arc that covers it, the whole point of the show is humbly about family, about these two brothers who rely on each other to face the world. I’m sounding like I join this cause? Because I do. I don’t think this movement will somehow effect the writing decision for Season 8. But at least it feels good just to know that I’m not in this alone.

4. First professional photo shoot of Thomas Padalecki
Finally an official public photo for cute baby Padalecki is out! The couple's son was born on March 19 this year. I just cannot not include this on the list. And I just cannot not include the actual scan from People magazine here. Because Jared is such such a great dad and Thomas is just… adorable. I’m not even going to comment any longer just see it for yourself.

5. Welcome EURO 2012 (and Arne Friedrich, we miss you)
Ah yes, did I ever mention that on occasion I love watching football too? So YAYYY!! for EURO 2012 that has just started last weekend. Good luck for the Germany national team! I’ve been a huge supporter for them since watching their match back in World Cup 2002, and never changed mind ever since. Then there is this one player in Germany national team –I’m not going to say he’s my favorite player but, I’ve seen him guarding the Germany defense line all this time and suddenly this year he’s not even in the squad. Where are you Friedrich? And how can we not miss him? Especially if this guy likes hug-attacking his teammates in every chance he gets. Hehee. I love some bromance, even on the football field. So here’s a picture full of bromance hugs to finish the list.

♣ Eyes, apparently I do the right thing.

I am more to lipstick, means I pay more attention to my lips, than my eyes. The theory is (when it comes to makeup) accentuate one: eyes or lips. And I choose lips because my eyes are unusual. And that's why I have one, two, three, ... six lips-things: two lipbalms and four lipsticks. Three lipbalms if I count Vaseline Pure Petroleum Jelly (but it's not "pure" lipbalm, right?) I realize that I'm a "bold statement lips" girl as time goes by. I dare to wear lipstick in not nude colors, want them to be pigmented on my lips, when my friends wear them one stroke only, afraid of looking too light.

But that's because I can do nothing with my eyes. I've told you through this post that my eyes shape bug me. If my eyes were like Emma Watson's, I could spend my money to eyeshadows, eyeliners, and mascaras. The positive thing (which I just realize right after typing the last sentence) is since I spend money to lipsticks not eyeshadows, eyeliners, and mascara, I save more money. Cool. But however, I want my eyes look pretty. I want see them has soul with those colors and shimmers from eyeshadow and drama side from eyeliners and mascaras. I want it so bad.

My "I have been trying to find eye makeup for monolids" has over officially last week. Bonus, now I know what I should call my eyes shape. I Google and Google and Google eye makeup tutorials for days until I came to some blogs. First, Studiobox10. This blog informs about monolids and its a lot of types. I never think monolids have a lot of types so when I read I was a bit surprised. But hey! That looks like my eyes shape. My eyes looked like sunken eyes. Second, BE on a budget. This blog shows me how to do eye makeup for unusual monolids. The owner of the blog, Connie, posted a Jinah Chae's video too, it's about types of monolids and based on the video, my eyes are hooded. It confuses me now. But whatever it is called, I do what Connie does. She has hooded-monolids eyes. She does her eye makeup like that. The way Connie does her eye makeup works on mine. I mean, I tried that too before I found her blog. It's pretty and simple. The most important thing: IT-WORKS-ON-ME. Guess it's time to start hunting some eyeshadows.

I'm sorry to bug you with this post. But, excuse me, if you don't have those kind of eyes like what Jeannie Ong from Studiobox10 has showed through her blog, I think it's difficult for you to understand. The day I know I've finally done the right thing to my eyes was the day that could make me kept smiling whole day. Feeling great. Besotted. But happy. Indeed. Thanks Jeannie Ong, Connie, and Jinah Chae!

♣ Pumped!

Life's going great with its ups and downs so far. First, my undergraduate thesis had been rejected by my first consultant since "it's too fast for me to come back (for chapter 4-5) after my first consultant gave my chapter 1, 2, and 3 'acc' last week". He rejected all reasons I gave. I told him that data for chapter 4 and 5 was processed during my work for chapter 123, but yeah.. failed. It's not logic, that's what he said. What can I do then? So now I'm hiatus working on my undergraduate thesis.

Second, I'm satisfied with my lifestyle, my "health part" especially. I went to swimming pool with friend this week. I did swimming from side to side of the pool and made new record. I was so lame about endurance. I had never made swimming from side to side without stop swimming, taking a break in the middle of the pool before I continued swimming. But I don't know, yesterday was different. I was able to swim side to side without stop swimming. That was a good achievement for me. Plus, I made the longest mileage, side to side swimming twelve times.

Third, I finally made it: dying my hair into something that is not black. Choosing color was confusing, especially I'd known what color I wanted. But since it's ME, I always ended up trying into another else. I knew I was cool. Now my hair is like Intense Red Dark Brown. Whatever. Completely different from what I expected: dark brown. Now I'm trying to live with it, I have no choice. The color is not that bad, it just sometimes doesn't look good with my skin color. Oh well! But since I have a new part -from my body- I'm feeling new and pumped.
