I've made a list of 2012 resolution about what I will or I wish to do or finish. You can check here. Tonight I'll talk about the movies that I watch during 2012.
1. The Raid
I know this movie was gonna be big. Everybody on Twitter talked about it. Twitter as my number 1 news source kept posting its progress. When it's finally released, I was surprised. The seats were full. I got this impression, that the movie was successful, and I was right. (But I watched local movies often so please ignore my reaction after seeing the seats were full).
2. Modus Anomali
I was so glad that I had Joko Anwar movie to be watched on 2012. I'd always looked for his movies. It happened because his movie, Kala, was so different from any local movies. The costume, the set of places, the set of time, etc. When his another movie, Fiksi, came out, I didn't watch it since Kala was so great (he was as the writer). I was afraid it would ruin my impression about Kala. Then when Pintu Terlarang (aka The Forbidden Door), I missed it. I didn't have time to go to cinema. I was busy with school life. So when finally his Modus Anomali was on cinema, I made up my mind to watch it.
3. La Promesse
Another Joko Anwar movie. The different was La Promesse was a short movie. It's only 5 mins. The cast were actually fest movie crew. :) From what I read, he made this short movie by holding the camera on his hand and cigarette on his other hand. You can watch it online here.
4. Soegija
Due to my lack of watching local movies, I went to cinema to watch Soegija on June 2012. The good news about me went was the actors were good looking. The bad news was I watched it with many old men and ole women. No wonder actually, it's not a movie for teenagers and it's not a romcom movie either. I felt I chose the wrong movie but after watching it, I felt so good and better than any 20-something years old girl because they didn't watch it. But I guess it's just me anyway.
5. The Amazing Spiderman
The Amazing Spiderman (TAS) was the first 3D movie that I watched. I went because my friend wanted it. I never liked superhero movie, but I didn't hate it either.
Speaking about TAS, the main discussion topic after watching it was how Andrew Garfield acting compared to Tobey Maguire acting. I couldn't tell how since I didn't watch Tobey Maguire's Spiderman movies. But from the surface I thought TAS was more "alive" with teenagers atmosphere. While Tobey Maguire was more "nerd". CMIIW. The movie that stared by Maguire, always I watch worrily. I was afraid if his character would die.
6. Looper
I couldn't really tell how I got there on the cinema. It happened because I needed to go out, and there's Looper on the cinema, and I loved the cast. So I went. Looper was another time travel movie. But I was more interested to talk about Joseph Gordon Levitt's makeup. He was pretty unrecognizable. I remembered I asked my friend two or three times to make sure myself that I was watching JGL. I understood that he was made to be looked alike Bruce Willis. But, uh, it looked weird in him.
Those are some movies that I've watched on 2012. I've made movie list that I'm going to watch on 2013. If you're blogwalking here, and read this post, please suggest me movies that should be watched on 2013. Here's mine:
