What's BlackBerry? A smartphone. Who can use this device? People who need to connect 24/7/30 to email, instant messages, web browing, etc. Why? To "smoothing" their bussiness or need. But for everyone? No.
The strangest event in my life, currently, is now I'm using BlackBerry. I never really want to try it. I know I just will use SMS, phone, browser, and social media application (if available). BB has the features but it's more for bussinessman. I'm not.
Last weekend, I got a text from cousin. He offered me his (or his sister's?) BlackBerry Curve. So I texted him back, "No, thanks". Several moments later, I told my mom about that and she convinced me to take the offering. Because if I used the BlackBerry, my mom could use my Nokia C3 to replace her old cellphone. So that was the history.
Since the first day I use it, it pissed me off. Old contacts couldn't be deleted at once. I texted my (another) cousin and she said that I should delete it manually one by one. After I Google, apparently I could delete it at once with hand wipeheld. But that would delete everything in the BlackBerry. Bluetooth notebook didn't detect BB device. I couldn't send wallpapers and ringtone. Themes were completely boring. Design was so masculine. The alt keypad somehow looked like "drown". Uncomfortable for typing.
It's been the third day of using BlackBerry. A little bit surprised because I can say it's so far so good. I'm getting used to it. I've downloaded the BlackBerry Application World so that I can collect some nice themes and social media applications. I spend most of the time to "utak atik" its features. Tiring, indeed. My eyes are still sore and dry now.
Although I'm sure I'm still going to be unable 24/7/30 online, well, BlackBerry is not that bad. I like its ringtone. Sound good. I still don't like its theme, even with what I've downloaded from BlackBerry Applicaton World. But some are minimalist and better than its original themes, which I like. And of course, UberSocial. You don't feel like using BB for social media if you don't use UberSocial. It reminds me to Pavo.Me, a Java based application for Twitter, that has been deactivated due to Twitter API's new rules.
I wish the excitement doesn't end here. I wish my provider will lower its BlackBerry full package price so that it's more affordable. What else I could ask? I'm just a student.
